About the Artist

Drawing inspiration from early computer graphics and organic patterns found in nature, I combine my appreciation for both digital design and traditional art forms. By blending acrylic painting techniques with digital aesthetics, I have developed a visual language that fuses technical precision with bold, expressive color.

My recent series, Analog Blooms in the Digital Void, explores humanity's shift from a tangible analog existence to an increasingly digitized one. Using my signature vibrant acrylics and geometric motifs, I create a visual connection between traditional botanical subjects and the "glitch" aesthetics of the modern era. By placing delicate organic forms against grids and high-contrast patterns, my paintings symbolize life's resilience within the "void" of a digital environment.

Each piece I create invites viewers to contemplate the tension between the unpredictable curves of life and the rigidity of the tech-driven systems we navigate daily. Through my art, I encourage others to reflect on their own relationship with technology and consider what is gained or lost as our world becomes increasingly digitized.

Creative Process

My approach is not defined by a strict separation between analog and digital techniques, but rather by an ongoing integration of the two throughout my entire process. Movement between traditional and modern systems is the core of my workflow. Technology isn’t a substitute for craftsmanship; it’s a valuable tool that helps me explore infinite possibilities.

Analog Start

Each project begins to take shape in the physical realm with pencils or ink on paper. These preliminary ideation sketches are an essential step in exploration, allowing me to transform the concepts swirling around in my head into something tangible.

Digital Enhancement

I move over to the digital realm to further develop my ideas. I take photos or scan my original sketches and then refine them with a Wacom tablet and Photoshop. This is an efficient way to explore endless options of color palettes, compositional ratios, and dimensions before applying actual paint to my canvas.

Projection / Transfer

For larger works, I use a projector to digitally transfer my constructed “blueprint” onto the canvas, ensuring consistency with my conceptualized ideas throughout the creative process.

Real Time Iteration

When I'm working on a painting, I often get new ideas. Mobile apps and GenAI are useful tools for visualizing color changes or adding new elements in real time. Using my phone, I snap a photo of my painting, then make adjustments in a matter of seconds to “preview” my ideas prior to adding the paint to the canvas. I can simply tap the screen to “undo” the edits, versus spending hours reworking an entire section of a painting.

Commissions

Commissioning an original artwork is an opportunity to own a one-of-a-kind piece of art. I look forward to considering your request. Whether you already have a particular idea in mind or would like a recommendation based on the space where the artwork will be displayed, think about how you would like the artwork to look. Reference photos can be very helpful. All ideas and suggestions are welcome.

MATERIALS

All commissioned paintings are created using professional-grade paints, mediums, and varnishes on 100% cotton canvas. These materials ensure that your commissioned piece will be of archival quality and will last for many years. If you prefer a different surface material other than canvas, such as paper or wood panel, I am open to discussing those options.

COMPLETION TIMEFRAME

The creation of original art takes time. Completion times will vary depending on the size, detail, and complexity. Small paintings with basic details can be completed within two weeks, but large paintings with intricate details will take longer. If the commission is needed by a specific date, please communicate this when completing the initial contact form. All reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate your request.

COMMISSION PROCESS

Soon after your commission request is confirmed, I will provide a preliminary composition for your review to be sure we are on the same page before proceeding. The composition will be in the form of a hand drawn sketch, a digital mockup, or a combination of the two. During the commission process, I will send updates along with photos, showing how the artwork is developing. You will have the opportunity during these checkpoints to provide feedback. The commission price includes two minor revisions to the painting. See pricing information below for more details.

PRICING

Each commission comes with a unique set of variables. Depending on the level of detail and complexity, the rate is $1.50 to $2.00 per square inch. After calculating, the price is rounded to the nearest hundred. This is the commission price. The commission includes two minor revisions at no additional cost. Each extra revision will incur a fee of 20% of the commission price. Other fees, such as frame/assembly and shipping, are added separately. Please note: A down payment of 50% of the commission price is required before starting work.
